Centar vizualnih umjetnosti Batana (Photo Art Gallery Batana)

The exhibition space of the Photo Art Gallery "Batana" in Rovinj, will open on Saturday, August 24, 2019 at 8.30 pm a solo exhibition by Ana Mihalić, one of the prominent representatives of the younger generation of contemporary Croatian photographers, who will present her complex project "Grandma" which she has been working on for the last few years. It is a spatio-temporal visualization of an autobiographical family story told in the form of a photo essay, which has developed into a socially understood and engaged concept, that is very relevant today. Ana Mihalić told the story suggestively and emotionally, but very contemporary in art; in the way that the story is told by contemporary artistic practice, where photography is understood as an "extended medium", and in addition to the classical approach, "non-photographic" elements (collages, drawings, objects) are used in communication.

    Swimming marathon

    09:00 - 17:00 h

    Swimming marathon

Those who successfully completed the entire marathon know how enjoyable it was. Those who have at least attempted, surely did not regret it. This recreational swimming marathon is the major event of the Swimming festival at sea, held each year on the first weekend in September at the beach in Poreč. The start of the marathon is at the hotel Pical beach, and you can join the swimmers at any time between 9 am and 3 pm and choose one of the three marathon laps. There are guarded lockers at the beach, the swimming area is marked and under surveillance for the swimmers' safety, and the participants will be returned from the finish to the start position by boat. If you can't complete the entire marathon, a boat will come to pick you up, but don't give up so fast - everything is allowed: masks, fins, inflatable beach mattresses, water wings... You can set off alone, with your friends, family, swim slow or fast, use any possible known or unknown style.

The Poreč dolphin is a swimming challenge for everyone, because what matters is not your final result but participation.

    Bronze dolphin
is awarded to those who complete the 1500 m lap, and anyone can do this!

    Silver dolphin
is awarded to those who a distance of 3000 m. If you don't try it, you'll never know if you can do this!

    Golden dolphin
is reserved for those who reach and swim - altogether 5000 m, and not everyone can do this! The Poreč dolphin is a swimming challenge for everyone, because what matters is not your final result but participation.
