Istria has become the most popular regional destination of German car drivers for the third time in a row. According to the latest research of the famous ADAC automobile club published by the end of October, Istria also increased its attractiveness by 1% in comparison with the previous year.
Such results significantly contribute to the better perception of Istria as a destination in Germany, the most important target market of the Istrian tourism. Likewise, diversification in relation to the other regions contributes towards reinforcement of the Istrian brand and its media presence in German as well as the Western European region.
Every year, ADAC is conducting a research about the holiday journeys with personal vehicles among 1, 7 million routes made by ADAC experts for their members. After Istria, the German car drivers prefer journeys to South Tirol, Lago di Garda, Upper Bavaria and Venice-Friuli.
In the countries category, Croatia as a destination for cars is at the 3rd place, behind Germany and Italy. It won the same place on the list of the favourite destination for German mobile homes.
Research results are published in ADAC Motorwell magazine, released in over 13 million issues, as well as on the website www.adac.de.
