Rovinj among the 5 Most Photographed Towns in the Mediterranean

Thanks to Google, the world’s most popular search engine, visitors are able to enjoy a unique view of the most photographed places in the world. Through a heat map the website www.sightsmap.com shows the places where the most photos were taken in the world.

Google created the map using its Panoramio, Google Maps and Google Earth services. New York is at the top of the list, followed by Rome, Barcelona, Paris and Istanbul. Rovinj is 59th, ranking fifth in the Mediterranean and first in the region. It is followed by Split, Zadar, Beograd, Plitvice Lakes, Dubrovnik and other popular regional destinations.

The most photographed sights, according to the www.sightsmap.com are St. Euphemia's, Grisia Street, M. Tito's Square, MMC and the Franciscan Monastery.
