Presentation of world gourmet guides which pages include Istria
The 2014 gastonomic guides of international reputation were promoted at the ceremony held in Poreč: Gault & Millau Austria, I ristoranti d'Italia – Le Guide dell'Espresso, Magnar ben and A tavola con le Venezie listing, among others, the best hospitality facilities from Istria.
Following its first appearance in the worldwide renowned guides in 2002, Istrian restaurants have continued to be presented on their pages. Grading criteria for Istrian hospitality facilities do not differ from those applied to Italian, French or German restaurants.
Maurizio Potočnik, the editor of Magnar ben, a guide which presents the best restaurants, wines and specialities along the Alpe-Adria area, has stressed special and enchanting features of Istrian hinterland as well as its coast.
He has pointed out the surprising effect of the Istrian offer, chefs creating specialities with such great skills resulting in notable progress year by year. He believes that Istria is on a good path to become a recognizable world-class gourmet destination.
His special prize was awarded to Badi restaurant from Lovrečica for creating the best Alpe-Adria speciality according to the guide's review: bread crusted sea bass.
