Italian travel bloggers and their emotions in the 'New Tuscany'

Valamar Gourmet Bloggers Tour, organized by Valamar Hotels & Resorts and Istria Tourist Board, in collaboration with two travel bloggers from Tuscany, has just ended. Success beyond all expectations. The impressions of bloggers are indicative of strong liking of Istria, the so-called New Tuscany, and hospitality signed Valamar. And the overriding importance of social networks and web communications for this type of events.

Valamar Bloggers Gourmet Tour ended Monday, June 2nd and the eight Italian travel bloggers were captivated by the beauty that the so-called New Tuscany offered them during the four days in Istria. Porec, with its large choice of activities, and Rabac, the most charming tourist destination on the east coast of the Istrian peninsula and known as "The Pearl of the Adriatic", offered to bloggers an almost endless array of wonderful coves and unspoilt beaches pebbles.

But also the visit to the ancient towns of Labin and Motovuon have impressed Italians bloggers. This is clear from the words of Alexander Bertini, founder of Girovagate and coordinator of the Italian bloggers in Istria. He was particularly attracted by the "scent of history contained within the walls of Motovun".

The visit started from Porec, then continued discovering the green, large forests, ancient villages, the sea, wild colors, flavors precious Istrian cuisine has to offer. Because, as pointed out by Enzo Ferrari (Inguaribile viaggiatore), one of the bloggers who took part to the initiative, "the holiday in Istria is not just for those who want a beautiful sea and white sand beaches, but also delightful towns that tell through their architecture the Istrian history, a lush hinterland and last but not least a refined attention to food and wine."

Valamar Gourmet Bloggers Tour underlines the word “gourmet”: that’s because Istrian cuisine is well known in world’s culinary and wine rungs. With locally sourced ingredients straight from the land and sea, you are sure to enjoy the freshest gastronomic delights in family run taverns and swanky restaurants alike. Some true foodie havens may require a hike or a drive along authentic Mediterranean village pathways, but with the first mouthful of authentic food or sip of renowned Croatian wines, you will know your trip was well worth it.

And bloggers confirm, as Alessia Bianchi (Le dolcezze di Nonna Papera) highlights: “The best way to discover a country is going through its flavors. Truffles, prosciutto and Teran: these are the flavors of my Croatia. With its beautiful landscape, its colorful sky, its breeze, a history, a tradition... a memory to live on.” Bloggers enjoy exquisite daily selection of fresh seafood and mouth-watering desserts at Restaurant Spinnaker.

Istria is also the ideal destination for those who want the camping holiday, without sacrificing luxurious comfort. For the bloggers, in fact, was given the opportunity to see and test the first of Glamping tent camping Lanterna, one of the best camping in Europe, where Valamar has been able to combine luxury holidays in familiar places.

Valamar Gourmet Bloggers Tour was also full of original activities such as truffle hunting, took place on the morning of Saturday, May 31, thanks to the family Karlic -  experts in hunting truffles – because, as pointed out by Simonetta Clucher (Sulle strade del mondo) “you really appreciate the places you visit by living and doing activities there”. And then Simonetta continues, speaking about Istrian sea: “The sea in Istria is gorgeous, more than I imagined. Just a shame: the dolphins are not looking out to greet us.”

Finally, it is fair to say that if a few years ago any professional competence had not recognized in the world of Italian travel bloggers, now significant projects such as Valamar Gourmet Tour Bloggers have high influence on social media networks. Travel bloggers allow the user of social media to travel in real time by following the posts and tweets photo that simultaneously converge on Instagram and Pinterest, guiding the choices of the average user  and the choice of tourist destinations. The hashtags #valatrip and #valamar were among the most viewed and followed the network during the four days of the blog tour.  This is the demonstration that Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, Google Plus and other social media tools are not just a pastime, but they serve a promotional function and work, now fundamental in web communication today.
