Maistra gets Zlatna Kuna for the most successful Croatian company

The Croatian Chamber of Economy (HGK) marked an important jubilee at the end of 2017, its 165th anniversary, with a ceremonial assignment of awards for business excellence to the best national companies and business people.

Zlatna kuna, the most respected award of its kind in Croatia, was assigned to Maistra, a leading tourist company from Rovinj that achieves 16% of total overnight stays in Istria and 6% in the whole of Croatia, and the award was assigned to the company's CEO, Tomislav Popović, by President, Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović.

-  First of all, I would like to thank all of Maistra's employees. This award will help us to continue with our objective, which is to achieve a ten years continuous growth. I am quite convinced that we will continue to make a profit in the future as we have done so far - Tomislav Popović said while receiving the award.

The award has been assigned since 1993 for business success and contribution to the Croatian economy as a whole based on performance indicators in a number of categories.

The assignment of annual acknowledgements for the best in 2017 took place at the National and University Library in Zagreb on the 13th November, in the presence of a number of guests, managers of leading companies and state-top members.

Besides the President of the Republic of Croatia, congratulations to business people and greetings to guests were sent from Prime Minister, Andrej Plenković, Parliamentary President, Gordan Jandroković and the host of the meeting and President of the Croatian Chamber of Economy, Luka Burilović.

Within its portfolio, the Maistra Tourist Company has ten hotels, eight tourist villages and six campsites located in prestigious positions in Rovinj and Vrsar. Along with the three billion kuna invested so far, this Istrian company, at the top of the Croatian premium offer is regularly selected according to its prices and customer satisfaction, and future plans include an additional two billion kuna investment by 2020 and raising the overall offer to four and five star levels.

2018 should be marked with the start of investment in the area of Vrsar, whilst intense work is underway on the construction of the new Park Hotel, a key product in the process of completing the top hotel offer in Rovinj. The Park Hotel project was also declared a strategic investment for Croatia.
