An interesting start for the co-operative Poljoprivredna Zadruga Vodnjan, which has proposed a high quality product to our panel. Active since 2008 in Vodnjan, it consists of 64 members, who cultivate a total surface of 90 hectares of specialized olive grove with 25,000 trees. In the last harvest 50 quintals were produced, equal to a yield of almost 8 hectolitres of extra virgin olive oil. We recommend the selection proposed, the excellent Extra Virgin Olivis. It is a beautiful intense limpid golden yellow colour with slight green hues. Its aroma is elegant and rotund, endowed with vegetal hints of artichoke and wild thistle, enriched by aromatic notes of mint and rosemary. Its taste is ample and strong, with a spicy flavour of black pepper, a note of chicory, lettuce and a definite almond finish. Bitterness is distinct and pungency is present and harmonic. It would be ideal on mussel appetizers, boiled beans, tomato salads, steamed vegetables, barley soups, risotto with artichokes, stewed shrimps, barbecued fish, baked poultry or lamb, mozzarella cheese.
