Toffetti in Vodnjan has given an interesting performance. The farm was founded in 2002 by Lucio Toffetti, who still runs a small estate with about 1 hectare of olive grove and 350 trees. In the last oil harvest 30 quintals of olives were produced, equal to about 4 hectolitres of extra virgin olive oil. We recommend the only farm selection, the Extra Virgin Toffetti, which is a beautiful intense limpid golden yellow colour with slight green hues. Its aroma is definite and rotund, characterized by elegant vegetal hints of wild chicory, artichoke and lettuce, enriched by aromatic notes of black pepper, rosemary and mint. Its taste is complex and strong, endowed with an elegant flavour of fresh country vegetables and distinct notes of dried fruit, especially almond. Bitterness and pungency are present and well balanced. It would be ideal on artichoke appetizers, bruschette with vegetables, barley salads, marinated gilthead, farro soups, pasta with salmon, breaded fried meat, stewed cuttlefish, baked poultry or lamb, mozzarella cheese.
