Tonin, active for several years in the favourable area of Vodnjan, is constantly improving the quality of its products. This beautiful oil farm is run with dedication by Antonio Pastrovicchio, who has 5 hectares of specialized olive grove with 1,400 trees. In the last harvest 120 quintals of olives were produced, which, once crushed, yielded 10 hectolitres of oil. We recommend the excellent Monovarietal Extra Virgin Tonin - Buža, which is a beautiful intense limpid golden yellow colour with delicate green hues. Its aroma is rotund and complex, endowed with ample vegetal notes of lettuce, artichoke and broad beans, together with fruity hints of medium ripe tomato. Its taste is elegant and strong, with a spicy flavour of white pepper and a note of officinal herbs, especially basil, mint and rosemary. Bitterness and pungency are distinct, with a sweet almond finish. It would be ideal on seafood appetizers, boiled beans, salmon salads, baked potatoes, barley purée, risotto with artichokes, mussels au gratin, roast turbot, baked rabbit, grilled poultry, mozzarella cheese.
