Due to natural conditions, the area is almost homogenous. It borders with the municipalities of Vodnjan, Bale, Kanfanar, Barban and Žminj. Of all the agricultural crops growing here, vines and olives crops are the most popular besides the vegetables and field crops, while for the cattle breeding the most common is sheep-breeding.

In the central part of southern Istria, half way between Pula and Pazin, on the road that connects the central part of the peninsula with its south, a small town is situated. The Municipality of Svetvinčenat is situated on the karst plateau, surrounded by forests, grazing fields and vineyards, with its castle, churches and a bell tower.
